He was born on 14th May 1967 in Maribor. He graduated in painting from the University of Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts (ALU) in 1995 and finished his postgraduate studies in painting under professor Metka Kraševec two years later.

In 1997 he received a scholarship for studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He was awarded the fellowships of the national Ministry of Culture for working in the New York and Berlin studios in 2000 and 2009.

He presented his works at many solo and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. He works as assistant professor for drawing and painting at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Education (PEF) since 2009.
