He was born in 1955 in Zagreb. He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb under professor Šime Perić in 1979, and collaborated in the master class program of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences in Zagreb (HAZU) under professors Ljuba Ivančić and Nikola Reiser until 1981.
He represented Croatia at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999. He lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb between 1987 and 1994. He returned to the University of Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in 2006, when he was appointed assistant professor.
He is one of the founders of the Arteria gallery in Zagreb. Since 2014, he is a member of the HAZU.
He represented Croatia at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999. He lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb between 1987 and 1994. He returned to the University of Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in 2006, when he was appointed assistant professor.
He is one of the founders of the Arteria gallery in Zagreb. Since 2014, he is a member of the HAZU.
